Reinventing the art and humor me
"The cure for boredom is curiosity. But there is no cure for curiosity. "We certainly experienced this event. I can say I've never been bored because my curiosity increased more during all my needs and emotions of others. I went my parents crazy with the "What's that?" Where are we going? How is it done? Why are we so? "Questions, having to be appeased with the parents of typical response: "Because.
I spent my life living outside the box to see things differently to try to understand why things were done in a way and why you could not do otherwise. For example, when I saw a rusty toaster in a drawer, I thought "What a great body of a doll!" Another example is a carpenter friend of mine had met a large wooden log store specialty wood pencils. I asked if I could have and turned them into a framework for a rustic wall mirror unique.
Fortunately, I share the artistic ability my mother and my fingers in different art media all my life, batiking ie the manufacture of candles, acrylic, murals, graphic design, popular art, collage, furniture and fauxing, and sewing. However, being a single mother of two boys, I worked in the corporate world to provide a stable income. I stopped take my creative interests seriously.
In 2002, at the age of 50 years, I had some personal tragedies that I actually have a stroke. I had learn to read, write, speak and walk. This forced me to slow down and reassess my priorities. My children have always been my priority, but no longer lived at home. I divorced recently, so it was important to focus on me eventually. I wondered: "What are you satisfied? What's your passion?
Being unable to work again stress, the hectic lifestyle of the corporate response was immediate. Art. Design. Humor. My father gave me his twisted humor gene, and is a much of what I am. The laughter and fantasy has always helped me glow inside. So the answer became art humor, whimsical curiosities.
My curiosity Whimsical creations are my passion. I like being in my studio, by chance pick up objects that are unexpectedly. I think I work alone (with my faithful dog of the tank), laughing often. My dolls are made of antique porcelain head and arms, old appliances kitchen, machine parts vintage junk drawer items and costume jewelry. My paintings are made of old toys, broken pottery and vintage equipment.
My life now occurs at a pace stressful and I'm glad and happy. I am also very proud of my curiosity and humor. Curiosity is the very foundation of discovery, adventure and education, and if you tell me that curiosity killed the cat, I say the cat died bravely!
