Do you think having a pet rock is dumb.?
My friend Sam has a pet rock she takes every where.She talks to it.dresses it up,gives it hair(sometimes)and post like tons of pictures of it on a art web site.
I really don’t have a problem it.I even ask her what her rock is doing from time to time.
Well,my little sister thinks it’s dumb to have a pet rock,and I think it’s what ever the person wants for a pet.
Well,what do you think.
Also,my friend isn’t crazy,she got the rock as a pet.
I think that’s totally cool. A pet rock is a fun way to have a ‘pet’ without having to take on a lot of the not so nice responsibilities. She gets to take it with her everywhere, which you can’t do with most pets. If it makes her happy, then I think it’s awesome.
I’ve had a few friends in high school who had pet rocks they carried around. They gave them names and they’d dress them up silly for special occasions and bring them out to let them ‘play’ with each other at lunch. It was actually a lot of silly fun for all of us. We were always excited to see what they’d dressed them up like on special days.
As long as your friend doesn’t sincerely believe that the rock is a living creature and is just enjoying having a responsibility free fun ‘pet’, then I think it’s just fine. It’s much better than someone having a living pet which they don’t have time to fully take care of.

I’d rather see people own pet rocks than to get pets and not take care of them..Too bad, more people don’t get rock babies as well!!!!!!!!!!
I must say that having a rock which you have strong feelings for is part of human nature. Most of our species have created an invisible one.
I have one that I found on the beach which is totally awesome. It is polished from millions of years of erosion and has thousands of very thin metallic threads extending out from a pinpoint center encased in some sort of glass sphere which still hasn’t scratched after my 19 years of safekeeping. The metal glows white at night but no one can see it night or day.
