Overcoming the Costume
Today it is very important to any high school teen to have a high faculty rival. There’s a college in California whose mascot is the panther. In numerous scenarios the mascot boy was a simple boy who would try to be an outgoing individual. But at this school things were a little different. Folks wanted to be the panther mascot and there would be a larger try out for that position than for the football team. There was one person that would stick out better than the others. The one had to be in a position to do back flips and back hand springs like it was their job. The one guy was then dubbed the panther mascot for the year. Then the pressure would come around homecoming time. While others were picking out what they were going to wear to homecoming, the panther mascot would be practicing his moves and jumps for the halftime performance.
There was nothing bigger and better in this small town than the homecoming game. The hint of hot dogs and excitement might be smelled for miles. The stands were full 2 hours early ready for the beat down of a game against the enemy Wildcats. The cheers from the cheerleaders would hype the fans up with their easy dances. Then the point came for the panther mascot to show what he had learned. The boy started with a tribute to Michael Jackson with the famous thriller dance. Man he could move with liquid motion in that suit. As he stopped he ran past the stands and then he ran past the locker rooms and the foot ball team came into his run and the took the field. After each article there would be a great roar in the stands as the panther mascot did the worm on the track that surrounds the field. Then there had to be drama. The wildcat mascot got pissed off and came at the panther with a sprint. But knowing that that was going to happen the panther mascot was prepared for anything. He had gone though self-defense classes just in case that would occur just like the previous years. As the panther manipulated his body to throw the wildcat on the ground the crowd went on another madness with the smash of the wildcat head. The Panther got up holding the head of the wild cat and threw it into the stands and they tossed it around like a beach ball at a {party. The enemy wildcat boy walked back to his side clearly humiliated.
There is nothing better than faculty spirit. Some folks think that school spirit is a waste of time and energy but if we are smart we can see the benefits of college sprits until our older years. If we just learn and apply what that young man had to do to satisfy the tradition of the panther mascot we too can be successful. If we are going to be prepared to do flips and please folk. We’re going to have a head start. Also, if we are to get ready for the surprises in life we’re going to be a nicer person in the end throwing the head of the rival mascot into the stands. Life is a straightforward thing that if we get prepared for a hard time we’ll be better at the end. Remember life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s to go out and dance in the rain. So remember what dedication you need in your life in order to put on the panther mascot costume.
