Plot
After losing their jobs at the University of Columbia, a trio of misfits parapsychologists Peter Venkman, Raymond Stantz, Egon Spengler and establish their own paranormal exterminator service "Ghostbusters." The company, which operates from an abandoned fire station, comes from a slow start, but as they run out of money, Ghostbusters communicates with the luxury hotel Sedgewick investigate a ghost. At the hotel, have made (although chaotic) report of the first ghost and place in a unit of "containment" of his own design studio located in Ghostbusters. paranormal activity seems to be increasing in the city and businesses rocket Ghostbusters, become local celebrities and hire a fourth member, Winston Zeddemore.
The Ghostbusters are hired by a woman named Dana Barrett, 55, whose apartment on Central Park West is obsessed by an evil spirit named Zuul, a demi-god cult in 6000 in British Columbia gozer Gozerian as an official of a variable geometry Sumerian God. Venkman, Dana, who is attractive, has a special interest in the case, competition for her affection with his neighbor Louis Tully socially inept. In investigating the matter, Dana is possessed by Zuul, which states "The Gatekeeper". Luis is also possessed by a demon vinz Clortho even called, "The KeyMaster." The two talk about demons gozer the arrival of the destroyer god, and Ghostbusters decide it would be prudent to maintain the two separated from each other. However, the next day, the office of Ghostbusters is visited by Walter Peck of the EPA, which for the team and the orders of their close ghost containment grid, freeing hundreds of ghosts in the city of New New York. Released from detention Ghostbusters ", Louis / vinz starts make your way to flat Dana / Zuul "like ghosts escaped to cause chaos throughout the city.
Consultant blues 55 Central Park West, Ghostbusters learn of its construction by a mad doctor and leader of a cult named Ivo Shandor, who designed the building to act as a magnet and cause gozer spiritual calling to the world. The Ghostbusters is drawn to the Mayor and delivered to the fight against paranormal activity. The head toward the building of Ghostbusters Shandor, arriving in the sanctuary at the superior. They are unable to stop Dana and Louis to transform into demonic beasts and gozer the call, which first appears as a woman. In short captivated by the team, gozer disappears, but his voice sounds so destructive "will continue, taking the form chosen by the team. Venkman explains that this means that everything that I imagine that manifest as a destructive force, and urges everyone to avoid them in white spirit to shape the destroyer. footsteps are heard grumbling off, however, and Ray Stantz finally admits that he was unable to keep your mind blank, then imagine something that "could never, never, perhaps destroy us." The destroyer arrived in the form chosen Stantz Stay PUFT giant marshmallow man and began to raze the city. Even if they manage to light on fire with their proton packs, which makes you mad and walked into the building. To defeat gozer this event, the team decided to merge the energy flow of the packets of protons and lead to larger gozer portal through, risking their own lives. Over time, continued through this plan and destroy PUFT Estancia, which exploded in torrents of melted marshmallow.
Ghostbusters survive, leaving Dana and Louis the charred remains of their owners. Upon leaving the building, Ghostbusters met with cheers from the crowd gathered. Louis is an idiot for the care taken care, while Venkman hunting and Dana as they kiss.
Development
The concept was inspired by Aykroyd's own fascination with the paranormal and was designed as a vehicle for him and his friend John Belushi, my former student of Saturday Night Live. The original story written by Aykroyd was very different from what was finally filmed. In this first version, a group of Ghostbusters traveled through time, space and other dimensions to make great ghosts (of which remain PUFT Marshmallow Man has been a many). In addition, the Ghostbusters wore SWAT and used as sticks instead of packets of protons to fight ghosts. Ghostbusters storyboards show them the type of riotsquad visor with furniture.
Aykroyd outstanding history with the director and producer Ivan Reitman, who liked the basic idea but immediately saw the lack of budget demanded by Aykroyd's first draft. In Reitman's suggestion, the story has given a major overhaul, eventually evolving into the final scenario that Aykroyd and Ramis hammered during three weeks in a bomb shelter from the Martha's Vineyard May-June 1982. Aykroyd and Ramis initially wrote the script with roles written especially for Belushi, Eddie Murphy and John Candy. However, Belushi died while writing the script, and neither Murphy nor Candy commit to the film, while Aykroyd and Ramis made some changes and polished a basic scenario-oriented science-fiction for his final project.
In addition to high-concept basic premise Aykroyd and Ramis to land jurisdiction with fantastic elements a real environment, the benefits of the implementation of semi-improvised movie Bill Murray as Peter Venkman, the character initially intended for Belushi.
The fire station in New York that served as headquarters of the Ghostbusters' in the movie.
Louis Tully was originally conceived as a man in a conservative business suit played by comedian John Candy, Candy, but unable to assume the role, she was taken by Rick Moranis, shows Louis as a geek. Gozer was originally to appear in the form of Ivo Shandor as thin, the ordinary man in a suit played by Paul Reubens. Finally account, the role was played by Yugoslavian model Slavitza Jovan.
Harold Ramis did not intend to act in any role in what the film and thought only Aykroyd help write the script. However, the crew trouble shooting the role of Egon Spengler even after renowned actors as Chevy Chase, Michael Keaton, Christopher Walken, John Lithgow, Christopher Lloyd and Jeff Goldblum are test. Feeling better since I knew the character was created, Ramis has accepted the role of Egon. He attributes this change in revitalizing his acting career, that Ramis has focused on the job and off the screen as the writing and directing. [Citation needed]
Winston Zeddemore was written with Eddie Murphy in the lead, but Murphy had to decline the role during the filming of Beverly Hills Cop same time. If Murphy had been cast, Zeddemore started much earlier in the film, and who accompanied the trio their search for Slimer at the hotel and was slimed in place of Peter Venkman. When Ernie Hudson took over, it was decided that he be brought forward to indicate how the Ghostbusters are struggling to cope with the outbreak of ghosts.
Production
To much light for the entire temple gozer and create the physical place, other measures must be closed and all its power over all drifts. The corridor provides for the Sedgewick Hotel were built for the movie Rich and Famous in 1981 and the model of Algonquin Hotel New York, where Reitman originally wanted to film the scene. Biltmore Hotel was chosen because the large lobby Ghostbusters authorized to travel fully equipped for the first time. Dana Barrett and Louis Tully's apartments were built on two floors and were actually the other side of the doors in the hallway, an unusual move at the movies. [Edit]
A problem arose during filming when it was discovered that a TV was produced in 1975 by Filmation for CBS called The Ghost Busters, Larry Storch and Forrest Tucker. Columbia Pictures prepared a list of alternative names where the rights can be guaranteed, but during the filming of the crowd for the final battle, the extras were all singing "The Ghostbusters, "which has inspired the producers insist that the studio buy the rights to the name.
For the evaluation of Ghostbusters, half of the effects ghost is absent, has not yet been completed by the production team. Public response was always enthusiastic, and the ghost elements have been made to launch theater official shortly thereafter.
