Ten good uses for pumpkins
When we think of pumpkins, we think of Halloween, Jack-O-Lanterns, pumpkin pie, and maybe Thanksgiving. But the truth is that there are many ways to use pumpkin!
During October, pumpkins abound. Sometimes they are too abundant. And it is not uncommon to see more pumpkins side or left to putrefaction after Halloween, but really is not necessary to let the extras go to waste. The following are just some of the main uses for pumpkins:
1. Pumpkin Recipes of food, pumpkins are low in calories but rich in vitamin A, vitamin C, protein and potassium. Dig Out Your favorite cookbook and search for recipes containing pumpkin. pumpkin bread, muffins cakes, and are the favorites, but you can probably find many others. As a makeshift boarding house in Paris, I was served a pumpkin soup incredible (but never finished my research for this recipe). There are recipes and try more exotic – pumpkin juice, pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin, flat even.
2. Pumpkin Seeds also called pepitas, pumpkin seeds are known to be highly nutritious and are used in diets for losing weight. and provide fiber, healthy fats and proteins, as well as minerals like magnesium, manganese, zinc, iron and copper. They are also known to enhance the immune system and is useful for people with high cholesterol. pumpkin seeds toast make great snacks between meals, can be sprayed on a holiday pumpkin soup, and are a favorite in Mexican cooking. Candied pumpkin seeds are perfect for parties as well – and even their children can accept on their Halloween candy.
3. Animal Pumpkin Puree pumpkin is a good remedy for digestive disorders in dogs. It can be used to combat weight gain or diarrhea, and resistance to infection. It is also said to be good for viewing night, a dog and overall health. Just add a few tablespoons of cooking, mashed pumpkin in dog food. (Note: must be pure pumpkin not a mixture of (!)) For more information about creating your own pumpkin puree, see (#) 4. Cats can and squash, and can not be take to help cats with similar digestive disorders, and hair balls. Remember that if your pet is ill, take him to the vet (!) And ask your veterinarian about using the pumpkin for a cure home.
4. Pumpkins for later, when there are more pumpkins than you know what to do, you can save for later use in recipes and for the winter holidays. There are several ways to make pumpkin puree, which can be frozen over later. Here are three methods of preparation:
1. Kitchen – Cut the squash in half, place on a tray (with the flat side below) and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about an hour, or until tender in tests with a fork.
2. Microwave – Follow the same procedure as above, but instead of putting the pumpkin in an oven, microwave peak power, while about 15 minutes or until tender.
3. Boil – Cut the pumpkin into pieces and rinse. Next, place the pieces in a pot, cover with water (squash completely set more than one inch of water at the top), and boil until tender. After using one of the above methods to soften the pumpkin cool, peel and crush in a food processor. You can also use a hammer or similar device. Then just seal the puree in zip bags, or whatever is appropriate, and freezing during the winter. The puree can be used as a substitute for canned pumpkin in any recipe you.
5. Pumpkins as flat as can be cleaned a pumpkin, cut in half, and dry for use as a serving bowl or vase of flowers. You can also use a pumpkin cut in half for cooking or preparing other food in.
6. Skin Pumpkin pumpkins contain antioxidants and alpha hydroxy, which is said to be good for the skin. You can use the pumpkin as Face peeling the fight against aging or other skin problems.

If your children are too young to start sculpting again, but also can decorate pumpkins with markers or paint – or even a collage of pumpkins. Perhaps even better, how about a cross between a Jack-O-Lantern, a fellow snow, and a scarecrow? Your children can have a great time to make a pumpkin man – and is much better for them than watching TV.
8. Pumpkin decorations like pumpkins, squash and pumpkins can be used to create chandeliers, action centers Thanksgiving, and other ornaments.
9. Musical pumpkins Yes yes, the pumpkins are large and musical instruments. Or at least it can, if you know how (and play) them. You can find a variety of ideas for instruments that can be made from pumpkins, squash and pumpkins. Although many musical instruments are made of gourds, one can easily imagine how great or small pumpkin just might as well in several cases.
10. Pumpkin Crafts If you are an experienced craftsman or an enthusiast aficionado, you might try some more advanced applications and creative pumpkins. You can make pumpkin leather as American Indians did, or simply settle with a simple gourd birdhouse. As you can see, there's really no need to go to the pumpkin waste, either before or after Halloween. In times of economic downturn it is not uncommon that people have more time on their hands, they have money. Instead of leaving extra pumpkins are going to lose, what are some ways you can stretch your budget grocery a little more, invest some time for your health, your children away from the screen, and have fun at the same time.
