How Bright Lights and dancing penguins It reminded me of Christmas
It was two days before Christmas and I was relaxing in my living room comfortable when my sister called and asked me to come and do a tour to see some Christmas lights in the neighborhood. As a shift worker, sometimes we forget that it is actually Christmas because in most cases – we work throughout the holiday season.
But having said that, I jumped in the car with two friends and I realized that my sister had built a well thought out plan. He had to print all the winning photos of the year the Christmas lights and a map in one hand, we went hunting fires to make money.
As we approached the street that had won the "most beautiful street in the category of neighborhood, had cars, people and children around the world. I suppose it must feel like Halloween is if you live in the United States. (Not really celebrated here in Australia).
We could not be so close in the car, my sister found a smart car and begin our march toward the usually quiet street in the suburbs to see what all the fuss was about. As we approached the corner and began to walk the path (trying to avoid tripping on children and animals), hit us gov. Literally all street was lit as if a light shining directly above us.
The attention to detail and creativity is really opened my eyes.
Lights in the dance of the penguins is certainly stimulated our senses – sight, hearing and smell, even (The Australian smell of barbecue filled the air.) Even had a couple of stand-in 'Santa Claus walking in the streets – sure to confuse the child who was five minutes before in front of another house.
But as they slowly toward the street, you could hear the laughter and the laughter of children and see their faces light to all who seek the poster has been invaluable.
However, as shift workers, we sometimes forget about Christmas. Like many of us work during the Christmas holidays, Christmas Day can sometimes feel like "Just Another Day."
But our journey through the neighborhood last night to see the lights dancing penguins and certainly reminded me that good Christmas and be thankful and grateful for everything I have in my life. From my friends and family, wonderful home and now live in our cat "Misty", which is lying on the foredeck watching as I write this – I am very grateful to be alive and abundant.
So that even if you can work on Christmas, you can certainly continue to enjoy the holidays. Eat, drink and be merry – And a wonderful holiday and safe as that we enter an exciting year in 2010 and fun!
