Killing cats on Halloween?
I went to a petstore yesterday with my boyfriend. We usually like to go and play with the kittens, because sometimes they don’t get as much attention as they should. When a volunteer was in their area, cleaning out the cages, we asked if we could go in and see them. And she told us that “none of them were available for addoption right now anyways” and closed the door. So my guy and I were like “…?” And then another employee comes up to us, and says that they do not sell any of their cats on halloween because people will steal the black and white ones and use them for sacrificial stuff, apparently doing terrible things like draining them of their blood while they’re still alive, then dumping the body in a trash can in the park or somewhere else they’d not be able to be traced to.
Is this actually true?!?! I’ve never heard of that being an issue before.
It’s true, many pet stores don’t sell cats around Halloween, but it’s because some people actually do sacrifice cats which is really sad! You should definitely be able to adopt a kitty soon though!
