halloween coming up. What is the best place for a dog with all the trick or treating going on?
Now Halloween can be a scary night…but even more so for our furry friends.
What is the safest and most secure place for our pets to be on Halloween Night, when the trick or treaters are out and coming to our doors?

Our dogs will probably be in the back rooms in their crates, its much easier than picking them up everytime the doorbell rings. Typically they wouldn’t run out if the door was opened but they might on such a chaotic night
maltese mamma: Do you have more than one account because someone posted the exact same answer you did word for word?
well, I would keep him in his crate. We bought my dog a halloween costume two years ago–he was going to be a pumpkin, but he started barking as soon as we got outside so I took him back in. Last year, we took my new puppy trick-or-treating with us, but people were pulling his ears, scaring him and such. I really didn’t like that and neither did the puppy!
Luckily we don’t see trick-or-treaters in my apartment building, but with my MIL’s old boxer we had to keep him in the Basement and have someone sit with him.
(I mean luckily for the dog, not for me. I wish I could have a jack-o-lantern out and hand out candy all dressed up!)
That’s a good question. I will probably keep them downstairs with me. If I had kids, the dogs would be out trick or treating with us
If trick or treaters came to my house, which they won’t because I live in the sticks, I’d keep my dog in his crate in a back room, where he hopefully won’t hear the door being knocked on constantly.
As far away from the front door as possible, otherwise you might get more help handing out the candy than you bargained for.
I would keep them in the back in a crate or at a friends house.
My dogs have their own room upstairs, so they will be up there probably barking their little faces off. It’s only for a couple of hours so it’s no big deal.
