Halloween and its foundation

The beginning of Halloween goes back to the birth of the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain. The Celts were people who lived about 2,000 years in Ireland, Britain and northern France. The Celts celebrated their new year on November 1. On November 1 was the day that was discussed at the end of summer and the beginning of the winter season or in other words, the season of darkness, it is considered to be the season where most deaths occurred. The Celts have been absorbed and the conviction that the night before the New Year was a night where the boundaries of life and soul of the world has become very clear. So, that night was celebrated Samhain was celebrated under the belief that the ghosts of the dead return to earth. The spirits of another world, not just one kind of bad for the people, but also harm the crops. There was also a belief among the Celts that the spirits that belonged to another world is easier for priests to predict the future. Prediction play an important role in the lives of people who are totally dependent on the evolution of the natural world, these predictions serve as an important source of comfort and provide a sense of direction for the winter season.

Celebrating this event, the Celts built bonfires where they met and sacrificed animals and crops to their deities. During the celebrations of the Celts who was dressed in animal heads and skins. During this event, persons belonging to the community tried to Celtic make predictions for the other. At night, the fire is extinguished and the celebration is over the fire is lit the sacred fire which in turn protects against all evil would bring the winter.

In 800 of the land of the Celts were almost under the influence of Christianity. Pope Boniface was a person who says that 1 November All Saints. That day, the saints and martyrs are honored. Celtic Festival to commemorate the dead was replaced by an event that the Pope states, this was the belief that prevailed. It was a holiday declared on the basis of a church-related event. Therefore, the celebration of All Saints was called, meaning of All Saints and the night before began to be celebrated as Eva Toussaint is now known as Halloween.
