Hot Dog Costumes For Dachshunds

hot dog costumes for dachshunds
what should i dress my dogs up like for halloween?

i have 2 mini dachshunds (brother and sister) and it is their 1st halloween..i am so undecided on costumes for them … i dont want something to heavy or bulky. i also want them to sort of match. ive thought of hot dogs (one mustard and one ketchup) or frankenstein and his bride but i still dont know.. any ideas? (i also have one cat that will be dressed as a witch as of now,i already bought the costume =] ) thanks for your time.
the cat ive had for a few years now and yea shes fine for dressing up on halloween and my dogs are fine too, i wouldnt do somthing to make them uncomfy (hint i said not heavy or bulky) im not stupid. haha and they too wear sweaters in winter only because they are small dogs and they shiver in the cold so in the winter when i let them out to go potty i put sweaters on them and they dont mind… if they dont like the costumes, trust me ill take them off…but thanks for your concern?! i dont know if you meant all that in a rude way or not, but thanks

First off, make sure they can stand wearing anything. A lot of dogs don’t like it, and that makes it cruel. If, however, they don’t mind in the least… I see nothing wrong with a Halloween costume. There’s nothing wrong with getting festive. I am totally against dressing up animals on a regular basis, but I dress up my pug for Holiday Cards, and I’ll dress him up for Halloween. The thing with costumes is they need to be comfortable. You’re right with nothing heavy and bulky. Make sure to watch for signs if they get uncomfortable. If they starts eating at it and trying to get out, let them.

Anyway, I do like the hotdog idea, but if you want something more Halloween, go with simple pumpkins or something basic. They are dogs… don’t make TOO big a deal out of it. I like the hotdogs because it suits them. I plan to dress my pug as Yoda (he has the perfect face!) or Elvis because he has the perfect lip. I’m leaning towards Elvis because it’s just a cape, and isn’t too much fabric for a dog.

(Oh, and I have never met a cat that likes to dress up. Make sure she’s okay with the costume! If not, return it before it’s too late. Why waste the money?)

Oh, no! I did NOT mean it in a rude way! I’m sorry if that came off. It’s hard to pick up “emotions” over the internet. I think it’s great when people get in the spirit and dress up their pets. However, I do know some people who go overboard, and it’s cruel to their pets. I think it’s awesome that your cat will wear stuff. Never in my life have I had such an easy going cat. You’re lucky lol. My Mom’s chihuahuas wore sweaters when we went to NY. They had always lived in FL, so we didn’t know how they’d do with the cold. My pug hates the rain, so sometimes if it’s too bad, I have a rain coat for him.

Oscar is short, like all dachshunds, and all the other dogs make fun of him. On Halloween he takes more ridicule than ever in his hot-dog costume, but one brave act makes him a Grade-A hero….
