Information about keeping a pet bunny?
I’m going to pick up my baby bunny on halloween (too young to leave yet) and I’ve had 3 before, but that was a long time ago.
My first bunny (full grown, white female) was really really mean. She growled and attacked me!
My other bunnies were very nice. (black male & brown male)
The one I’ve already bought is white. We don’t know if it’s a boy or girl yet, it’s hard to tell.
My question is, does anyone know if females are more aggressive or what?
And also, do you know any good tips on keeping bunnies as pets?
(i.e. treats they like/good for them, and how to train them to be nice or not bite?)
NICE COMMENTS ARE APPRECIATED TREMENDOUSLY

The best thing you can do is to get the rabbit spayed or neutered. This can be done at about 4-6 months old. It will eliminate the hormones and makes for a more docile rabbit that is a better pet.
Handle the rabbit every day. Get it used to being held (but not too much), create positive associations (like coming to you for pets). Interact with the rabbit on its level.
Rabbits should be indoor pets. You can bring it outside to run around, but it should live indoors. Most pet store cages are too small for adult rabbits. It is much better (and cheaper) to build your own. http://www.guineapigcages.com has tons on info on how to build it and what you need.
Alfalfa pellets and hay are fine for young rabbits, but adults should have timothy hay and pellets. You want to avoid pellets with corn and extra bits in them, a plain pellet is best. You should give the rabbit as much hay it wants. If you can get different kinds of hay, give them.
Veggies are good, but should only be given to rabbits over 4 months of age unless you know that rabbit has been getting them earlier. Leafy green veggies are best. Carrots have lots of sugar and should be avoided in large amounts. Fruits should only be give as a treat as they are also high in sugar. There are many lists avaliable of safe veggies you can give.
Rabbits can be litter trained. A cat litter box and wood pellet litter are best. Clumping litter is very dangerous to rabbits as it can cause blockages if ingested.
Provide lots of toys. Cat balls with a bell inside are popular. Some bird toys can be used. Cardboard boxes and tubes and great.
you can’t really train a rabbit not to bite. they arn’t as smart as dogs and way more stubborn. Females are nicer and less likely to bite or scratch.
