Bear with me .. I tried to make this issue for some time. Why is that people applying human attributes to animals and inanimate objects? I guess that's our basic nature to treat all (animate or inanimate) how we would like to be treated. I guess that this behavior is much more common when it comes to animals, especially pets, not only because they are living breathing entities as us, we love and grew too attached. We developed this feeling of love and compassion as we would if we care about another human being. And as to things like cars, etc. .. It is a sign of appreciation for the "services" you provide us. Of course, a car that could not and did not knowingly and voluntarily help us in our daily activities, but we thank you and "appreciate" the no less.
