Miniature Horses: A horse that is very popular tiny

No bigger than a large dog, the American Miniature Horse is at least 34 "tall at the shoulder and weighs between 150-250 pounds. This horse is very popular in many countries and is known by various names, such as the miniature horse miniature horse American toy, pony miniature Falabella Falabella miniature horse, Guide, Mini and dwarf horse. They have been bred for centuries through selective breeding of horses and small ponies. In prehistoric times, small horses were probably the product of having to survive in harsh climates with limited food. Today, genetics has led to double the size accurately.

In 1879, Falabella family of Argentina small horse breed found in the pampas of southern Buenos Aires, where Horses have been known under Falabella. But long before that, many farmers in the different countries have tried to create miniature horses.

The first mention of a small horse being imported into the United States in 1888. Some of these horses were brought to the mine from Holland, Germany, Belgium and England in the 19th century and in some Appalachian coal mines as recently as 1950, and tunnels were small and regular size horses were just too big to fit.

ponies, EU ministers, ponies and miniature Falabella, everything that happens in the American Miniature Horse breeding to produce a balanced animal. Without However, by descent, may have features Shetland Ponies, Arabians, Hackney Ponies, Thoroughbreds, and others. This resulted in a wide range of body types and all color and pattern palette horses. In fact, any color or marked with any color of eyes is equally acceptable.

But in the last 100 years there has been disagreement about the origins of the genetic characteristics of miniature horses. Some small breeds, such as Falabella horses from Argentina, have developed in a totally separate small horse eighteenth-century European and independent selection programs have been established in all continents.

Some have noted that the miniature horse dwarfism and congenital malformations are more common in the United States to foreign countries. U.S. farmers demand because the horses have been bred purely for size, dwarfing characteristics have become common in them, while farmers have been reported overseas the rate of stunting is lower in countries that have rejected the breeding small horses or ponies dwarfs with undesirable traits, or achondroplasia, as is known in humans.

A miniature dwarf is different. Their teeth are not always correctly, the head is too big for the neck, and he can have a belly. A horse with some features of the dwarfs may be in perfect health and be a good pet, but others have problems with bones and teeth that make life impossible for them. Dwarves can not be registered as miniature horses, but as improved reproduction minus the dwarves are born.

However, it is clear that genes dwarfs have been deliberately introduced into the American miniature horses and a few "famous" mini stallion has obvious characteristics Equine dwarfism. Tiny Tim Bond (19 "tall, the R AMHA registration number 00015P) have many issues related to dwarfism, but she was tall widely, from genetic mutations potentially disabling thousands of their descendants through the United States, so the dwarf gene is blowing in many lines today, and it is difficult to locate the gene has not been identified.

Founded in 1978, in Arlington, Texas, the American Miniature Horse Association (AMHA) has registered nearly 160,000 horses and more than 12,000 members in 37 countries and provinces. The aim of the AMHA is to promote a standard of excellence and purity of the thumbnail and to this end they have closed the stud book 31 December 1987 so that the horses registered AMHA parents can be registered. In addition, a foal is eligible to be temporarily recorded at the time of his birth and if not over 34 "when it reaches the age of 5 years, can be recorded permanently as a miniature horse. To ensure the accuracy of the genealogies, all foals born after December 31, 1995 must be blood typed and / or DNA testing before any of their descendants can be registered.

There seems to be an anomaly in the provision of miniatures. Producers can say they are friendly and loving that can make more sales, but many owners complain that they have been bitten by aggressive Minis. Without knowing the circumstances of these complaints, the horse may have been abused by the previous owner o. may be simply a matter of not being spayed or neutered.

All stallions of all breeds can be aggressive, but it is a castration operation simpler and cheaper than can solve territorial aggression and lack of hormones as a result manners.
